Embed Gutenberg Blocks

Any subjective notes on these block are our opinions and others may not agree. All features for various blocks may not have been tested here.
There are numerous embed blocks. Only a few are tested here.

  • Embed Blocks come with WordPress
  • https://gogutenberg.com/blocks/embeds/
  • Embed blocks allow you to insert third-party content (video, audio, images, tweets, etc.) onto your WordPress site.
  • With Gutenberg, you have a generic embed block, as well as a handful of more specific ones for a variety of popular services.
  • Left & right alignments will wrap the following text around the embed, while the center alignment will simply center it on the page.
  • supports an optional caption displayed beneath the embed. Bold, italic, strikethrough & links are supported in captions.
  • There are numerous blocks listed, but we only tested a few.

  • Generic embed block
  • Simply put in url for item to be embedded
  • Doesn’t appear to work for jpg, pdf or other documents

  • Block is in Common Blocks after downloading plugin
  • Embeds Pdf files that are in media library
  • simply click on the file, no need to copy and paste url
  • Can set height and width
  • If height is set smaller then a slider comes up, stays proportional
  • There is a premium version of plugin with more options

Twitter Embed Block

  • Not tested here

Youtube Embed Block

  • Simply put the YouTube url in the block, works well
  • Can set to resize for phones

Facebook Embed Block

  • Facebook embed works for specific posts but does not stream your FB feed.

Instagram Embed Block

  • Not tested here
